MSRT Education Excellence Award for Professor S. Mohammad Ali Moosavian from University of Tehran

Professor S. Mohammad Ali Moosavian (University of Tehran) received Award for Excellence in Education from Ministry of Science, Research and Technology (MSRT) in 2018 for his outstanding contributions to Education of Chemical Engineering Community in Iran.

Professor S. Mohammad Ali Moosavian was born in 1953. He obtained B. E. and M. Sc. in Chemical Engineering from University of Tehran. Then in 1980 he joined University of Tehran as lecturer. He has completed another M. Sc. program at University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST) in England in Chemical Engineering. Upon receiving his Ph.D. in 1991 from UMIST, he has been back with Department of Chemical Engineering at University of Tehran since then and made remarkable contributions in this position. Professor Moosavian has been teaching several courses in undergraduate and graduate programs during all these years, including Thermodynamics, Reactor Design, Transport Phenomena, Material and Energy Balance, Advance Thermodynamics, Advanced Reactor Design, and Surface Phenomena. He has conducting various researches in these fields, and supervised more than 120 M. Sc. and Ph. D. theses. Professor Moosavian has published more than 250 scientific papers in peer-reviewed international conferences and journals. He was elected as chair of Chemical Engineering Department for six times since 2005. He has made remarkable contributions at different academic committees, some of which are member of the Chemical Engineering Committee at the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology (MSRT) since 1999, member of the Academic Jury at University of Tehran since 2008, Director of the Centre of Excellence in Chemical Engineering Olympiad since 2007, Director of the National Committee of Chemical Engineering Olympiad, and member of the National Committee for selection of Book of the Year.
