Dr. Reza Zarghami Promoted to Full Professor of Chemical Engineering

Journal of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering (JChPE) would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Dr. Reza Zarghami, chief editor of the JChPE, on his promotion to Professor of Chemical Engineering at School of Chemical Engineering, College of Engineering, University of Tehran.

Professor Reza Zarghami received his B.Eng degree in chemical engineering from Shiraz University and his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of Tehran. In 2009, he joined the School of Chemical Engineering at the University of Tehran as a faculty member. He has been teaching advanced fluid dynamics, computational fluid dynamics, process control, and mixing through these years. His research interests include nonlinear dynamics, multiphase flows, and computational fluid dynamics. Professor Zarghami has written more than 150 publications in major international journals and conferences. He is also co-author of a book named “Coupled CFD-DEM Modeling” published by Wiley, which was well received by the scientific community.

Besides his outstanding academic achievements in the field of chemical engineering, Professor Zarghami—in collaboration with Professor Navid Mostoufi and Professor Rahmat Sotudeh-Gharebagh—established “Process Simulation Center” at the University of Tehran to train highly qualified master and Ph.D. students. He held several positions within the School of Chemical Engineering, including “head of Pharmaceutical Engineering Program” and “head of Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Engineering, Energy and Environment Group”. He was also the “chairman of the international conference of Membrane Science and Technology 2015” (MST2015) and he has been the chief editor of the JChPE since 2017.

During his career, he has received several awards, some of which are “the University of Tehran Award for International Relations”, “Iran Inventions Grand Prize”, and “25th Annual University Book Festival Award”.

The JChPE wishes Professor Zarghami all the success in his future endeavors.
